When you visit Apex Optical, you’ll enter a family-like atmosphere with staff that will take the time to get to know you and all your vision-related needs.
That’s the Apex Optical difference.
Since Mike Pelivanis founded Apex Optical more than 40 years ago, the mission has remained the same. Provide great service and deliver high quality eyewear expertly crafted with care and passion so that everyone who comes to us goes home happy with their new glasses.
We work hard to fulfill Mike’s goal at our three Every day our team of experienced and caring professionals are here for you every step of the way.
The Apex Optical Process
Apex Optical works a little differently than other opticians you may be used to. We bring a science to selecting frames, not just a sense of style. We want to find something you love to see yourself in that also works well with your prescription. If your frame and prescription aren’t aligned, the glasses won’t look good and most important, the end product won’t improve your vision.
So we start from your prescription and then pick out some frames with you to choose from. We do so for a few reasons:
- Your prescription dictates your lens thickness. The stronger your prescription, the thicker the lens, the more visible it will be in the wrong frame.
- Lenses that are incorrect or ill-fitting can ruin the look of your glasses or worse distort your prescription, and negatively affect your vision.
Our experts know how any lens will look in a given frame and can offer guidance to help you avoid any of these issues.
Come for the eyewear, stay for the experience and expertise
The vast number of knowledgeable staff members at Apex Optical is the direct result of the family-like atmosphere Mike created when he founded the company. Many of our employees have been with us for 10 years or more. The longer a staff member is at Apex, the more knowledgeable they’ve become about all things opticianry, allowing them to serve you better. This is the reason so many of our customers have stayed with us for years, and in some cases, even decades.
Whether you need a new pair of glasses, lenses, or want to adjust the ones you have, Apex Optical can help. Stop by one of our three locations today.
Insurance
We are often asked if we accept vision insurance. We found that doing so was not conducive with reaching our core objectives, and thus have opted-out. Our experience has led us to the opinion that vision insurance is not usually a true savings option, or working in your best vision interests. First, we have seen how insurance fees are often added to items and services that Apex Optical simply does not charge for. After applying an insurance discount, we’ve found that the end price is regularly similar to what we charge without insurance involvement. If you do have insurance, we are always happy and ready to provide you with an itemized receipt to submit to your provider for an out-of-network claim.
Taking vision insurance often limits what optical providers can and can’t offer you, even if the choice is not the right option for you. It is important to remember that not all vision products are created equal. What an insurance company allows might not best meet your needs, and in the end, may limit how well your glasses function.
Apex Optical, as a family-owned business, is not beholden to the limitations that come with an insurance company that may not know our customers or the industry as extensively as we do. We give you our best service and stand proudly behind our products. Your satisfaction with your eyewear is what matters most to us.
